Two of the three policemen died in the raid were from the Mobile/Riot Police Regiment based in Hanoi (22nd Regiment) under the Mobile/Riot Police Command. The third is from the Police Department of Fire Prevention and Rescue of Hanoi Police Department.

When three Vietnamese police officers died during the raid against Dong Tam people, General Secretary cum President Nguyen Phu Trong, PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc and Minister To Lam signed the reward decisions, meaning that this Party and its government, instead of serving the people, now they have become enemies of the people nationwide and encourage other police officers to learn to persecute and kill more people.
From this point on, the Party and its Government have destroyed their legitimacy.
